Approaching time-based media is like an artist’s book, with the intricate folds and unfoldings expressed in as unique a way as a physical book. I have created book forms that manifest from a huge wall display to an intimate video in a shrine-like structure. The artist book in its versatility from traditional bound or folded books to sculptural or digital, lends itself to manifestation of the ideas. Books are places closed, information sealed from view until broached, the promise secret until trespassed. I am representing states of transformation and places of significance by videos manifesting as books and books as videos. I explore the boundaries that designate print, book, print becoming book, book becoming sculpture, video becoming book and thus, the print multiple.
